2023 Polar Bear Plunge

On New Years Day 2023, Provincetown will celebrate the sixth annual Polar Bear Plunge. On that day,  an intrepid group of people will gather in the Johnson Street parking lot, collect tee-shirts, listen to some carefully selected music spun by our DJ, Chris Racine, and learn about the important work of the Center for Coastal Studies. At noon, weather permitting, we will run, splash and plunge into the waters of Provincetown Harbor. This charity tradition is part of the Provincetown First Light celebrations for New Years Weekend 2023. This event, co-sponsored by the Harbor Lounge, Yolqueria, Mezzeterranean and the 8 Dyer Hotel will feature warm-up cocktails and chili at Harbor Lounge. Registration this year is $60 and includes a t-shirt and a donation to the Center for Coastal Studies. There will be a DJ, music and a guest emcee, as well as Manzanita Coffee, Captain's Daughter's tea and the best group of people willing to run into the bay on New Years Day!

We are requesting that everyone wear water shoes to make sure that you don't cut your feet on the oyster shells in that part of the harbor. We will have some water shoes available to purchase. Please let us know on the registration page whether you will bring your own water shoes or if you request to buy them.
